This past weekend we took Tegan on her first big road trip to Oregon. Aaron's family threw Nana a surprise 80th Birthday party and it was a surprise indeed! We drove up on a Friday and Tegan did awesome. She slept all the way to Yreka where we stopped at the Black Bear Diner and had some dinner and drove into Grants Pass. We got in around 8pm and the girls were so excited to be there. They immediatley threw off their shoes and started to jump on the bed (it's sort of tradition for them to bounce on the hotel beds since I don't allow it at home!). The next morning we had breakfast with Lisa, her girls, Uncle Mike and Mary then we were off to Medford. After a little shopping (no sales tax afterall!) we met up with Laura, Big "B", Adam, Tracie and the kids at McDonalds. Nothing like a family reunion at the local fast food joint! ha ha ha . . . anyway we were very pressed for time since it was such a short weekend that we took what we could get. Tegan got to meet her Gramma Laura for the first time as well as Unlce Adam, Auntie Tracie and her cousins. Saturday afternoon was the big surprise party and it was great! Uncle Jerry had his buddies there playing music and the girls were dancing queens! On Sunday we were able to visit for a little while with Aaron's family before hitting the road home. Another long drive home and the girls were once again dreams. The portable DVD player is a MUST for long car rides!! Tegan did very well again on the way home and all in all it was a very nice trip and it was great to see family. :o)
