Escape from reality

What an AMAZING weekend!! For months I have been waiting for this weekend and it finally arrived. It has been over 2 years since Aaron and I had a weekend away from the girls. Needless to say this was my FIRST time away from Tegan overnight. My little sister Michelle came up with her girlfriend and stayed with the girls. On Saturday morning Aaron and I headed out for our weekend getaway. First we had planned to spend the day with our good friends, Susie, Jamie, Robin & Davin for an entire day of wine tasting for passport weekend in the El Dorado wine region. We hit up 9 wineries and had a FABULOUS day drinking amazing wines and eating some fantastic gormet food. After a day full of tasting we headed back to Susie and Jamie's place where we hung around, ate pizza and the girls chatted while the boys played pool. After a few hours we decided to head to our hotel. We originally planned to hit up the Casino but we were both really tired from our day. We stayed at the Holiday Inn in El Dorado Hills which was suprisingly REALLY nice! We were able to actually sleep in for the first time in a LONG time Sunday morning. We had a nice breakfast and couldn't decide what we wanted to do . . go back tasting . . . go to see a movie . . . . with all the unlimited options we decided to jump back in bed and watch movies on the TV until checkout time. It's not everyday we get to just lay in bed until noon so we took FULL advantage! It was AMAZING! After grabbing lunch we headed home to our little angels and it was back to reality. Our little "escape" was SO worth the wait and we've decided that we need to take mini weekend's away a lot more often.

me giddy from the day of tasting. This is at our last stop of the day - Windwalker.

Awww . . . can you feel the romance?
