nothing like some night-time swimming (with clothes on) during the summer!
Here we are almost at the end of July and I have not made one entry! That usually is a sign of good things . . . we have so much going on between swimming, visiting friends, going on trips, working on the house, going to the lake and so on and so on. Summertime is full of adventures! Now it's time to play catch up on the past month of excitement.
We bought the girls a little Intex blow up pool (the kind with a small pump) and they swim in it ALL day almost every day (unless we have other plans). One night Hailee had a friend sleep over and they decided to go out back and play and not quite sure who dared who but they both ended up IN the pool with their clothes on. Now it's become sort of the "thing to do". On really hot nights when we are outside relaxing the girls will just sort of look at me and I already know the question so I say "go ahead" and they all jump in. Something about night swimming just screams summer fun!
On the 4th of July we were supposed to go camping with our good friends like we did last year but things came up and it was pretty low key. We had a big family BBQ on the 3rd of July and then on 4th we just lit off some fireworks in our driveway with Andy, Lisa and family. On July 7th we headed up to Lake Tahoe for our good friends - Corey & Amanda's wedding. This was the first wedding that the girls have been to that they were old enough to really know what was going on. Before the wedding Hailee and Aaron were in deep conversation about what it meant to accept Jesus in your heart (more on that later) and it was SO precious that I had to snap a shot of their conversation.
The wedding was beautiful and Amanda was the picture perfect bride. At the reception they opened up the mic. to anyone who wanted to say something and I was SO surprised that Faith got up and spoke! Of course I didn't get a picture of it but it was so sweet, she thanked them for including her on their special day, congratulations and you guys are the best! It was precious. After a night of dancing under the Tahoe stars we headed back to the hotel to crash. Unfortunatley it was a short trip as we had to leave the next day.
This month has been jam packed with fun and it's not over yet! The girls and I have a week getaway planned to Lake Tahoe with just some moms and kids . . . stay tuned!
