Who would have ever thought that spending a day gathering wood would be SO much fun! Of course it could be the fact that it was spent with some great company! Jill was so kind to have a mom's night out and invite me to sleep over on a Friday night and then have Aaron and the girls come up on Saturday to gather firewood. Well it was a wonderful day for gathering wood. It was a bit cold but with the big bonfire we had going and all the work we were doing all of kept warm. The kids all had a BLAST playing with each other and exploring the "woods". Faith and Leah found some snails and made homes for them while Tegan was very busy helping Jill and I stack fire wood and "clean up". Hailee and Nolan seemed to keep each other busy playing and exploring. Towards the end of the day all three cows made an appearance. I'd have to say this was the first time the girls had ever been so close to a cow (without a fence in between them). Nolan was such a great cowboy showing the girls how to make yourself big and to not turn your backs to them. In no time Faith was testing out her cowgirl abilities. After many hours of the men cutting and the women stacking wood it was time to get cleaned up but not before we stopped at the barn so the girls could feed the cows. It was such a blast and we can't wait to go back and do it again someday!!
