Happy 5th Birthday Tegan . . . off to school you go!

first day at school . . . and first time eating in the cafeteria!

 Such a big girl!
As requested . . . a Christmas Tree cake!

Holy moly . . . our baby girl is 5 years old!  I'm not quite sure where in the world the past 5 years went but here we are.  For Tegan's birthday all she really wanted was to start school.  We were quite unsure if that was going to be a reality seeing that the school's TK (Transitional Kinder) class was quite full.  Well, we found out the Friday before her birthday there was room and she was going to be able to start school!  She was beyond thrilled.  Of course a lot of her friends from preschool were in the class so everyday she would ask "do I get to go to school yet?".  It was kind of funny to me that the only thing she wanted for her birthday was to go to school (yet her big sister Hailee would only want to stay home from school on her birthday!).

As we do every year on Tegan's birthday, we went out to dinner at her restaurant of choice (Red Robbin) then off we went to get a Christmas tree.  She requested a Christmas Tree cake for her birthday so when she got home from school she and I decorated some cupcakes to look like a tree.  She was very pleased with it.

Since it was the big number 5 she had a big birthday party.  Being the gymnast that she is she wanted a gymnastics birthday party.  Lots of family and friends came up for her birthday party and it was a huge hit.  Tegan continues to amaze me with her personality.  God truly does make us all our own individual.  She is such a kind gentle soul that is full of love.  She loves gymnastics and is quite the natrural at it . . . she's soared up the levels and word has it that all the coaches "have their eyes on her".  It's amazing to watch her do the things she loves . . . we are so proud of our big 5 year old!
