summ . . . summm . . . summer time!!!

Summer time . . . time to sleep in, go on adventures, visit family, eat watermellon, make ice cream and homemade lemonade.  There are so many memories to be made in such a short period of time.  It's been my prayer that each day the girls can make a new memory of something amazing.  While we have a month and a half left of summer . . . the first part of it has been FULL.  Our first week of vacation, Mimi was here!  We had a blast!  Took the girls to see Mirror Mirror, went to a water park, went to Discovery Kingdom for Faith's birthday and had a party at our house for Aaron's birthday.  After Mimi went home we packed up and headed to San Jose.

We stayed at Poppy and Grammy's house and we had even more adventures.  On the second day there I went and picked up Peyton and Taryn and all us girls went to Filoli Gardens and toured the mansion and the grounds.  Then we stopped in a little ecletic restaurant and had a yummy lunch.  The girls enjoyed playing with their cousins when we got back to the house and soaked up the sunshine and beautiful weather.  The next day we drove out to Fremont to visit Ardenwood Farms.  It's a working farm and they had all sorts of animals and gardens to walk through.  I was a little disappointed in that the weather was SOOO cold and I was NOT prepared.  The girls did great though and we had a great time exploring the farm and the horse drawn train ride was a big hit!

After spending 4 days in San Jose we came home for our first "real" week at home to just relax and enjoy daily living.  On the Sunday after we returned our good friend Chad graded our property!  We were so blessed to get such an amazing deal on a huge tractor and with Chad's help we were able to get most of the grading on the property done as well as knock down a few of the nasty juniper trees!  Now our back yard is a blank canvas and we can start planting trees and planning out what we are going to do next.  So exciting!  Although I won't lie . . it's a bit overwhelming!

Even though we've been home for a week the week has been full of fun.  We went to Rescue to visit good friends and see their baby calfs, the next day we met some other friends and went to the Folsom zoo and rode the train and the very next day we met another set of friends at the fountains and the girls played in the playground and in the water . . . finished by a trip to big spoon fro-yo.  So even though we've "been home" it seems as if every day we have had an adventure of some sort.  Life certainly is good and I am so thankful to God for blessing our life so richly.
